Kenyan President Calls Upon Church to Partner in Business Development

President Mwai Kibaki (Kenya)In early September, President Mwai Kibaki invited Christian leaders and those from other religious backgrounds to actively help their members in both spiritual and material areas. "All religious organisations are now invited to step up their provision of technical and business training or help establish Church-based small and medium enterprises to create employment for our youth," he said.

The president also challenged local churches to fully integrate Kenyans in commercial and industrial activities in order to create enough jobs for the unemployed, and affirmed that the Church was a partner in provision of technical and business training.
