Wise Investment Pays Off in Zambia
Today, through hard work and dedication, Maliko Banda is providing for his large family by farming, and through his small, yet growing business.
In 1999, Banda opened up a grinding mill for grinding maize into meal, used in one of Zambia’s staple foods. He invested in equipment and began operations right in front of his home. Assisted by a savings and loan program operated by Christian Business with Integrity (a Zambian association of businesspeople affiliated with Partners Worldwide), Banda now continues to invest in and grow his business, benefitting his family and community.

Freedom Serving Faith: Eagle TV in Mongolia
Originally founded to advance the gospel and contribute to Mongolia’s growth as a democratic nation with independent news and public information, when relaunched as Eagle Broadcasting Company (EBC) in 2003, Eagle TV was determined that the original two-fold vision would remain intact. Tom Terry, Managing Director, is proud of the fact that Eagle TV is now one of the most trusted news services in the country, and about new business and news programs offered this summer, as well as ministry programming. One example is the Together thru the Bible program, which will be available not only on TV, but online and as a DVD package with study notes.

The Ice Cream Lady
Fifteen years ago, Madame LeFevre was a young teacher supplementing her salary by selling frozen juice packets on the streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Today, she produces and sells 20,000 iced juice and ice cream packs a day and employs 40 people! This amazing life transformation was made possible through mentoring and a small loan from CRWRC (Christian Reformed World Relief Committee).
Lefevre supplies her products to 400 street vendors, whom she also mentors. She donates a portion of her income to support literacy classes, because she knows every person, regardless of his economic situation, has a gift to contribute to society. If you are a businessperson with experience in ice-cream making and a heart for mentoring, please contact Dave Genzink.
